SARAH’S OIL

“Sarah’s Oil” is the true story of Sarah Rector, an 11-year-old African American girl who became one of America’s first Black millionaires after oil was discovered on her land allotment in Oklahoma in the early 1900s. She believed there was oil beneath the “worthless” land and used her faith, family, and allies to protect her newfound wealth from greedy oil magnates. The story is now a movie that focuses on themes of faith, resilience, and courage.
